Russian President Vladimir Putin could reportedly answer a phone call from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said, according to Russian media.

Ushakov once again repeated that Zelenskyy could come to Moscow for talks with Putin.

"He is sending signals through various channels. If he wants to talk so much, if he wants negotiations so badly, let him come," he said.

The Russian presidential aide also claimed that Putin had allegedly never refused to speak with Zelenskyy and would therefore answer a phone call from him.

"I think he would, of course. Putin has never refused to talk," Ushakov said.

The Kremlin earlier said Russian President Vladimir Putin was reportedly ready to speak by phone with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, but that "no one has called yet."

At the same time, the Ukrainian Presidential Office said Zelenskyy was not planning to call Putin at this time.

It was noted that key issues related to ending the war should be resolved at the leaders' level. However, a phone call alone would not be enough to reach agreements.
