"Everyone understands that this is the highest price. So, I ask you to take care of yourselves, your loved ones, comrades, officers, and soldiers—ordinary soldiers who fight with you every day and who give their lives. I wish you victories, to be strong, not to lose initiative, to defend Kharkiv region, Kupiansk, every village, every square meter of land," Zelenskyy addressed the military.
Yesterday, the president visited the south of Ukraine. Zelenskyy, on a working visit, visited the Odesa region and Kherson. The head of state held a meeting with the military and discussed the situation in the Black Sea, the defense of the grain corridor, and the strengthening of air defense.
Situation near Kupiansk
Russians captured Kupiansk and part of the border territories of the Kharkiv region in the first weeks of the full-scale invasion. These territories were liberated during the counteroffensive by the Armed Forces in the fall of 2022.
Currently, the occupiers do not give up attempts to capture Kupiansk again to create a "buffer zone" around the Luhansk region. Ukrainian forces prevent the enemy from advancing.
As reported by the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russian occupiers are looking for a "weakness in defense" of Ukrainian forces near Kupiansk.
RBC-Ukraine asked military experts whether there are new threats to Kupiansk and what "prospects" the Russians have there by the end of the year – in our material.
