Zelenskyy calls to cut off foreign component supplies for Russian drones
Russian Shahed drones used to attack Ukraine contain thousands of foreign components. Their supply must be cut off, stated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"While these Shahed drones are technically Russian, they wouldn't be possible without foreign components. Each Shahed, like every Russian missile, is built using critical foreign components, without which Russian terror would be impossible. Thirty-one Shaheds over the past night are approximately 2,635 components from other countries: microchips, switches, transceivers," Zelenskyy noted.
The President emphasized that all supplies of such components to Russia must be cut off to stop the terror.
"This isn’t just about protecting lives in Ukraine. Russian Shaheds are currently targeting our homes and infrastructure, but at any time, Russians can transfer terror to any other country. Other countries are already experiencing incidents with drones on their territory. Everyone in the world has already seen how warfare is changing because of drones," Zelenskyy said.
He urged the global community to act decisively and prevent regimes like Russia from acquiring such capabilities.
"Everyone who assists Russia in building its terrorist potential, bypassing sanctions, and manufacturing weapons must be held accountable," Zelenskyy concluded.
