Russia is gradually increasing the activity of Shahed attacks. The aggressor country still has the ability to use Western components, so sanctions should be strengthened, states Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The Head of State noted that in October, more than 2,000 Shaheds were used against Ukraine. Attacks took place literally every day.

“Such a number of Shaheds means more than 170 thousand components that should have been blocked for delivery to Russia. Microcircuits, microcontrollers, processors, many different parts, without which this terror would simply be impossible,” the president said.

Zelenskyy clarified that all this is supplied to Russia from abroad. Many of the micro contributions to Russia's ongoing terror come from companies in China, Europe, and America. This, in turn, brings the world back to the need to work much harder to control the export of special parts and resources. In particular, in order to prevent Russia from circumventing the sanctions that have long been imposed on the aggressor country for the war it started.

“The situation with Russian missiles is the same as with Shaheds. They all contain components from other countries. To fight against Russian strikes means to fight for the strength of sanctions against Russia. Sanctions must increase and be effective. And every scheme to circumvent sanctions is a crime against people and the world,” Zelenskyy said.

The President added that such schemes allow Russia to help “build muscle” for the regimes in Iran and North Korea.

“This is a global threat. And only global, social pressure can overcome it,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy summarized.

Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that in October, compared to September 2024, the number of Shaheds used against Ukraine increased by almost a third. According to the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, on average, the enemy used 62 drones per day, which is more than 44 UAVs in the first month of this fall.

In particular, today, according to the minister, Russia launched 71 drones at Kyiv and other cities. In this regard, Sybiha called on the West to take two actions.

”Let us strike their bases and storages in Russia. Allow partners to intercept them in our sky. Lift all restrictions on protecting life from terror,” he wrote on social network X.
