Zelenskyy believes US new leader won't affect NATO's decision to allocate €40 billion for Ukraine
The possible election of Donald Trump as US president is unlikely to lead to a revision of NATO's decision to provide €40 billion in military aid to Ukraine, says Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at a press conference.
The president was asked whether there was a risk of altering NATO's decision to allocate €40 billion for military assistance to Ukraine per year if Donald Trump becomes president of the United States.
"I believe that we have such a decision, it is absolutely fair, and that whoever is at the head of the United States of America will not stop this assistance," the Ukrainian head of state replied.
€40 billion for Ukraine
Last week, the NATO summit took place in Washington, D.C., where assistance to Ukraine was discussed.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg proposed the allies to allocate €40 billion annually for military assistance to Ukraine. This is the amount of money that has been allocated since the beginning of the full-scale war.
But the allies adjusted Stoltenberg's proposal. They decided to allocate €40 billion for military aid to Ukraine only next year.
