Zelenskyy believes in possible peace deal by November

There is a window of opportunity to end Russia's war against Ukraine before the US midterm elections in November this year. And now it is open, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says in an interview with Sky News.

"Now I think that we have a chance. Between us, what I really think about next year… it depends on these months, if we will have a chance to finish the war before autumn. Before elections, important, influential, elections in the United States. If it will be possible to achieve a peace, we will have, now we have this window," Zelenskyy says.
He notes that the United States is even stronger than it thinks it is.
"The United States even more stronger than they think about themselves. And I think so really. And they really have pressure on Putin. They can stop this war," the President stresses.
Zelenskyy also describes his relationship with US President Donald Trump as not easy, but stressed that Ukraine's relations go beyond personalities.
Deadlines for ending war
During a telephone conversation with President Volodymyr Zelensky, US President Donald Trump said he wanted to end the war in Ukraine within a month.
At the same time, the White House insists on agreeing to end the war in Ukraine before the 250th anniversary of US independence, which will be celebrated on July 4.
The US and Ukrainian negotiators also discussed the possibility of reaching a peace agreement with Russia in March 2026.
In addition, Ukraine wants to speed up the conclusion of a peace agreement with Russia, using the mediation of the US and Trump's personal role.
At the same time, Zelensky assessed the progress of work on documents to end the war. He believes that more progress is needed.
