Zelenskyy: Battlefield situation makes it possible to end war by 2025
In the coming months, Ukraine has a chance to shift the battlefield situation towards peace, allowing the war to end no later than 2025, stated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy speech at the Ukraine - South-East Europe summit.
"In October, November, and December, we have a real chance to move things toward peace and lasting stability. The situation on the battlefield creates an opportunity to make this choice – a choice for decisive action to end the war no later than in 2025," Zelenskyy said.
According to him, he is counting on the leadership of US President Joe Biden in this matter.
"We rely on the strong and wise steps of Britain, France, Germany, and Italy to bring security and peace to Europe," he added.
What is known about Zelenskyy's peace plan
At the beginning of summer, Ukraine held its first Peace Summit, attended by around 100 countries and international organizations. Currently, Ukraine is preparing for a second Peace Summit and is drafting a peace plan based on the implementation of each of the ten points outlined in its peace formula.
Ahead of the second summit, Ukraine is coordinating with partners through relevant thematic conferences, with three such conferences already having taken place.
As Zelenskyy stated, the plan aims to compel Russia to reach a diplomatic conclusion to the war.
