Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded US First Lady Melania Trump the Order of Princess Olga, First Class.
The award was presented in recognition of her significant personal contribution to humanitarian support for Ukraine, as well as her active human rights and charitable work aimed at rescuing Ukrainian children and citizens who have suffered as a result of Russian aggression and who have been illegally deported or forcibly displaced from Ukrainian territories temporarily occupied by Russia.
US First Lady Melania Trump facilitated a humanitarian mission in Oleshky, Kherson region, and secured a ceasefire in the area to allow for the evacuation of the city's residents. Nearly 800 people were evacuated from Oleshky.
Melania Trump will also meet with representatives from Russia and Ukraine at the White House on November 5. She will also deliver a speech on the ceasefire in Oleshky.
The White House has called this an unprecedented diplomatic initiative for the US First Lady.
