Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad and his soldiers were unable to fight the rebels because Russia had transferred all its powerful troops to Ukraine, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Telegram.

"We see that Assad's regime has fallen because there are no real powerful Russian forces there. Let's be honest. All of them have been transferred to Ukraine, nearly 800,000 Russian troops are on Ukrainian territory. This shows that the army of this pseudo-empire is now fighting against the Ukrainian people," emphasized Zelenskyy.

He also reminded that a similar situation is occurring in Africa, where Russia used Wagner mercenaries to establish "its own regimes."

According to him, the strength of Ukraine determines the strength of the Russian army. The overall success of the world depends on uniting around Ukraine.

"If Ukraine falls, Putin (Russian President Vladimir Putin - ed.) will return to Syria, Africa, and many other countries," the president explained.

Civil war in Syria

The civil war in Syria has been ongoing since 2011. Rebels attempted to overthrow the regime of Bashar al-Assad, who had ruled the country for over 20 years.

At the end of last week, it became known that Assad fled Syria to Moscow and agreed to transfer power.
