Zelenskyy arrives in Switzerland to speak at World Economic Forum
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has arrived in Switzerland for a visit. He is scheduled to speak at the World Economic Forum in Davos today, as the press secretary of the president, Serhii Nykyforov, told reporters.
Today, January 21, at 03:30 p.m. Kyiv time, the president is expected to deliver a special address at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos. According to the forum's program, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is scheduled to precede Zelenskyy's speech.
World Economic Forum 2025 in Davos
The WEF has been held for 54 years in the heart of the Swiss Alps in the ski resort of Davos. The main theme of this year's forum, which opened yesterday and will last for 4 days, is “Collaboration for the Intelligent Age”.
Discussions will cover issues of geo-economic uncertainty, rethinking growth, the role of artificial intelligence, and protecting the planet.
The forum is expected to be attended by about 3,000 representatives from more than 130 countries, including 60 heads of state and government and 900 CEOs of the world's leading companies.
On the sidelines of the forum, the Ukraine House will also be open from January 20 to 23, hosting panel discussions dedicated to Ukraine.
On Thursday, January 23, the session Ukraine: The Path Forward will discuss the Russia-Ukraine war, the prospects for a peace agreement, and Ukraine's recovery.
Participants include the foreign ministers of Ukraine and Poland, as well as the Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko, the President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola, and the President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs.
The forum will also be attended by the newly elected US President Donald Trump. He will deliver an online address on Thursday, January 23.
Last year, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy also participated in the WEF.
