On Friday, August 7, the Ukrainian President arrived in Serbia. He is scheduled to hold talks with the country's leadership today and tomorrow, according to Zelenskyy.

The Ukrainian president confirmed his arrival in Serbia, saying that important meetings with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Prime Minister Đuro Macut are scheduled for today and tomorrow.

"We will discuss expanding economic ties between our countries, relations with the European Union, other areas that can benefit our nations, and security issues," the president emphasized.

Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine is committed to working "constructively, for mutual benefit, and on the basis of mutual respect."

The visit marks Zelenskyy's first official trip to Belgrade since taking office as president of Ukraine. Until now, the two leaders had met only at international forums and summits held outside their countries.

Responding to questions about whether Zelenskyy's visit could signal Serbia's possible accession to sanctions against Russia, Vučić said that Belgrade had defined its position nearly five years ago. According to him, that position has not changed and will remain the same.

Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that Serbian President Vučić's first visit to Kyiv in more than a decade ended with a pledge to provide assistance to Ukraine. At the same time, Belgrade did not support new measures directed against Russia.
