Zelenskyy arrives in frontline Pokrovsk and hears report on defense
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in the city of Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, on Monday, November 18. He heard a report on the situation in this area, according to the frontline from the Office of the President.
During his visit to Pokrovsk, Zelenskyy visited the location of the 25th Separate Airborne Sicheslav Brigade. He heard a report from the brigade commander Yevhen Lasiichuk on the situation in the area of responsibility and the security situation in Pokrovsk.
In particular, it was about Russian tactics in conducting small group assaults and countermeasures, interaction with adjacent units, and the experience of using equipment provided by partners.
In addition, Zelenskyy also heard a report from the commander of the Donetsk operational and tactical group of troops, Oleksandr Lutsenko, on the general situation in the area of responsibility of his group of troops and details on the defense of Kurakhove and other areas.
Pokrovsk sector
The Pokrovsk sector remains one of the most difficult areas of the frontline. In particular, it was previously reported that Russian troops were 11 kilometers from Pokrovsk, forcing local authorities to call for evacuation.
According to Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Russians have an advantage in manpower and equipment, more than 50 combat clashes occur daily, and Russia loses up to 300 soldiers daily.
Earlier, Zelenskyy said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces would additionally strengthen the Pokrovsk sector.
