Ukraine will hold several meetings this week regarding the deployment of foreign troops to the country. Preparations for this are already underway, stated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"Together with our partners, we are preparing the basis for a security contingent - a contingent with the participation of partners, which will support peace after this war. Meetings are scheduled this week regarding this contingent," the President stated.

He added that today, Ukraine also planned its foreign policy work for the coming weeks.

Specifically, efforts are ongoing to secure new air defense systems for Ukraine, to ensure the resilience of the Ukrainian state and the Defense Forces, and to make diplomacy bear fruit.

European contingent in Ukraine

The issue of sending a contingent to Ukraine is currently being actively discussed in Europe. According to media rumors, it may involve the deployment of up to 30,000 foreign soldiers on Ukrainian territory.

It remains unclear where exactly they will be stationed and when this will happen - whether after the start of a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia or after a peace agreement is signed.

The deployment of the contingent is being discussed by the so-called Coalition of the Willing.

According to RBC-Ukraine, 5-6 countries are currently considering the possibility of sending their troops to Ukraine. Among them are the United Kingdom and France.
