Zelenskyy announces new sanctions against Russians at various levels

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced new economic sanctions against Russians at various levels - both at the level of partners and in Ukrainian jurisdiction.
"We are promptly preparing the synchronization of European sanctions in Ukraine, and we are also preparing new sanctions decisions, both at the level of partners and within Ukrainian jurisdiction," the President of Ukraine emphasizes.
He also welcomes the introduction of the 18th package of sanctions against Russia by the European Union.
"A decision by the European Union that we all worked for together. We managed to strengthen the 18th package of sanctions against Russia for this war, and today the package has been approved. I thank everyone who contributed to this," Zelenskyy adds.
New EU sanctions package against Russia
Today, on July 18, EU member states agreed on the 18th package of sanctions against Russia, the main restriction of which was a new lower limit on Russian oil.
The limit will be set at $15 per barrel below market prices and will be automatically reviewed at least twice a year, depending on market prices.
The package also includes restrictions on Russian oil refined in third countries. A large refinery in India, partially owned by the Russian state oil company Rosneft, has also been blacklisted.
The European Commission presented a new package of sanctions on June 10. However, Slovakia, along with Hungary, refused to support the new sanctions package because they did not want to lose the opportunity to buy cheap Russian oil and gas. However, in the end, Slovakia agreed to lift the blocking of the new economic regulations.
