Zelenskyy and Saudi Arabian prince discuss steps that could end war

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud. The two leaders discussed steps and conditions that could bring an end to the war in Ukraine and ensure a lasting and reliable peace, according to the president’s official Telegram channel.
"With the Crown Prince, we had a detailed discussion on the steps and conditions needed to end the war and secure a reliable and lasting peace. I specifically emphasized the issue of the release of prisoners and the return of our children, which could become a key step in building trust in diplomatic efforts. A significant part of the discussion was dedicated to the formats of security guarantees," the statement reads.
Zelenskyy informed that the parties discussed all the key issues on the agenda, both bilateral and with other partners. The president emphasized that Saudi Arabia provides a very important platform for diplomacy.
Zelenskyy also added that the Ukrainian team remains in Jeddah to work with the American command. The meeting is scheduled for today, March 11.
"We hope for practical outcomes. Ukraine’s position in these talks will be fully constructive," the president noted.
Additionally, the head of state wrote that it was important for Ukraine to hear words of confidence in the future of our country from the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia. Our country is also ready to cooperate.
"I am grateful for his wise perspective on global affairs and support for Ukraine. It was especially important to hear words of confidence in Ukraine’s future. The Crown Prince also shared Saudi Arabia’s ambitious economic strategy, and we wish our partners success. We are ready to collaborate and are confident that stronger ties between our nations and regions will benefit both our peoples and the world," Zelenskyy concluded.
