Zelenskyy and Macron discussed Ukraine's EU accession
During his visit to Argentina, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a chat with French President Emmanuel Macron, Ukrainian President's statement says.
According to Zelenskyy, he briefed Macron on the developments on the front and expressed gratitude for the military assistance provided by France. Additionally, during the meeting, the presidents discussed priority needs and the upcoming French defense package, which, according to the president, will significantly strengthen Ukraine's firepower.
"I thanked him for preparing to host Ukrainian pilots for the second stage of the F-16 aircraft training program," said Zelenskyy.
The president informed that the conversation also addressed the issue of the "grain corridor." Zelenskyy briefed his French counterpart on the functioning of the "grain corridor," stating that despite Russia's efforts, 7.5 million tons of cargo have already been transported.
"I also emphasized the importance of starting negotiations on Ukraine's EU accession at the European Council summit. Ukraine has fulfilled all necessary recommendations from the European Commission. The decision of the European Council will have a significant impact on the motivation of Ukrainian society and the army," emphasized the president.
