Zelenskyy has conversations with number of European leaders
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held phone conversations on the Peace Summit with a number of European leaders on Tuesday, May 7, according to the President's X account and Telegram channel.
According to Zelenskyy, during his conversation with his Finnish counterpart, Alexander Stubb, parties discussed defense cooperation.
"We also discussed our continued defense cooperation and the possibility of Ukraine utilizing Finland's experience in civilian shelter construction. I am grateful to Finland for all of its support and assistance to Ukraine," said the President.
Later, Zelenskyy said he had held a number of international conversations with the leaders of Belgium, Spain, and Latvia.
“Maximum attention is paid to the preparation of the first Global Peace Summit - an inaugural Summit, which can and must bring a fair peace closer. The more countries of the world show their leadership at the Summit, the closer peace will become,” Zelenskyy said.

At the beginning of April, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated 1 billion hryvnias for the construction of shelters. The funds will be distributed among medical facilities in frontline areas. Prior to this, over 5 billion hryvnias were allocated for the construction of fortifications in Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.
