The protection of the skies from Russian attacks over Odesa will be strengthened. Previously, the city was better protected, stated President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy at a meeting with business representatives of the Odesa region.

He promised that the military command would strengthen the defense of Odesa.

“As for air defense, I’ll be frank - Odesa used to be better protected than it has been recently. It used to be better. Let’s not go into details. But what used to be will return,” the President added.

The head of state did not specify which air defense systems might be used to strengthen Odesa’s protection.

Ukraine to receive Patriot

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte previously stated that Ukraine had already received most of the Patriot systems that partners promised to deliver at the NATO summit in Washington last year.

However, it is expected that all of the promised systems will be delivered to Ukraine soon.

It’s worth noting that recently Russia has increasingly used ballistic missiles with cluster warheads to strike peaceful Ukrainian cities. Since Ukraine does not have a sufficient number of Patriot systems, there are problems with protection against such weapons.

In particular, on April 13, the Russian army struck Sumy. It is known that as a result of this Russian attack, 35 people were killed.
