President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that the most difficult issue related to potential peace talks with Russia is the identity of the negotiator. Because at the moment, none of Russia's representatives want peace.

According to him, a frozen conflict without a strong position for Ukraine will lead to the fact that in a few years, Vladimir Putin could return and “destroy us completely.”

The outcome of the war depends on the start of the negotiation process. It is in Ukraine's interest to approach it reinforced with the help of partners, with weapons from the Victory Plan in sufficient quantities, long-range missiles, and an invitation to NATO.

“Only then can we sit down and talk. Who will be at this table? Russia, Ukraine, the EU and NATO. Why? Because we see ourselves as part of the security system in these alliances,” Zelenskyy said.

He also noted that he understands only what can be discussed with Russia in this format.

“By the way, the most difficult issue that we have to solve... is the person who will sit across from us. And if he or she does not want peace, and does not want to see Ukraine as an independent country in the future, what can we negotiate with such a person? This is my position,” the president added.

Earlier, Zelenskyy said that it doesn't matter where peace talks take place if Ukraine is in a weaker position than Russia.

He also called Putin a killer and a terrorist who should not be given a chance to give Ukraine an ultimatum.

The idea of quick peace talks is also being promoted by US President-elect Donald Trump. According to CNN, he may be asked to cease fire at the front before the talks.
