President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has arrived in France. He will participate in events commemorating the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy, according to the president's Telegram channel.

"And also - a special event that we are honoured to be taking part in: the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Allied landings in Normandy. This event and today remind us of the courage and determination shown for the sake of freedom and democracy. The Allies defended the freedom of Europe then, Ukrainians defend the freedom of Europe now. Unity prevailed then, true unity can prevail now," the President added.

What to expect from the visit

As earlier reported by BFMTV, during the visit, the president will meet with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron. The Élysée Palace noted that the meeting would be a continuation of the conference in support of Ukraine, which took place in Paris on February 26.

In particular, the president will address the French National Assembly and meet with the President of the National Assembly, Yaël Braun-Pivet. According to Reuters, the leaders may also discuss the issue of using Russia's frozen assets to aid Ukraine.
