Zaporizhzhia suffers heavy strikes as fires break out and destruction reported

Russian forces carried out a powerful strike on Zaporizhzhia during the night of June 17. Several industrial facilities were damaged, according to a statement from the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov.
"As a result of the Russian attack, a fire broke out on the grounds of one of Zaporizhzhia’s industrial facilities. The blast wave shattered windows in nearby buildings. Emergency services are already working at the scene," reported Ivan Fedorov.
According to him, Russian forces launched at least four strikes on the city, destroying several locations. Information about casualties is being clarified.
"There is damage to multiple industrial sites. Fires broke out there. The blast wave also damaged nearby residential buildings. Details about any injuries are still being confirmed," the regional administration head added.
Night attack on Ukraine, June 17
A large-scale air raid alert was declared across Ukraine during the night due to a wave of kamikaze drone attacks launched by Russian forces. Rescue and emergency teams responded to 12 locations across the capital’s Solomianskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Darnytskyi, Dniprovskyi, Podilskyi, and Obolonskyi districts. At least 16 people were injured.
Kyiv region was also hit by a combined drone and missile strike. In the Vyshhorod district, one woman was injured, and fires broke out in the Brovary district.
