The number of wounded victims in Zaporizhzhia has risen again following Russian shelling on January 23. As of now, 54 injured citizens have been reported, according to the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.

"One person has died, and 54 others were injured due to the enemy attack on Zaporizhzhia," the Regional Military Administration stated.

Yesterday, January 23, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported 52 injuries, among whom were rescuers. He thanked the rescuers for their assistance after the enemy attack and named those who were injured due to a repeated strike by the occupiers during rescue operations.

Zelenskyy also noted that employees of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine from not only Zaporizhzhia but also Kherson and Donetsk regions were helping at the site of the strike.

Shelling of Zaporizhzhia on night of January 23

On the night of January 23, Russian terrorists attacked Zaporizhzhia twice. Enemy drones destroyed an energy facility, leaving over 20,000 consumers without electricity. Critical infrastructure facilities, including boiler rooms, healthcare institutions, and social welfare facilities, were left without power.

The enemy also attacked the city with ballistic missiles, one of which destroyed a two-story apartment building.

As a result of the shelling, a 47-year-old man was killed.
