Zaporizhzhia hit overnight: Dozens of homes, school, and cars damaged

Russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia with three aerial bombs on the night of December 24. As a result of the strikes, residential buildings were damaged, garages and cars caught fire, and there are reports of casualties, according to the Telegram channel of the National Police and the channel of the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov.

What the Russian forces used to strike
At around 03:35 Kyiv time, an air raid alert was announced in the city of Zaporizhzhia. At the same time, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, warned about the activity of Russian tactical aviation and the threat of strikes using guided aerial bombs (KABs).
Soon afterward, a series of explosions was heard in the city. Later, Fedorov уточнив that the enemy had struck Zaporizhzhia with three aerial bombs.
Consequences of the attack on Zaporizhzhia
Initially, it was reported that the Russians had preliminarily damaged a residential building, and that garages and cars were burning in the city. By morning, it became clear that the scale of the damage was even greater.
“Several high-rise residential buildings, municipal and private vehicles, and an educational institution were damaged. A garage cooperative was also partially destroyed,” the National Police of Ukraine reported.
However, a little later, Fedorov stated that at least 13 apartment buildings had been damaged in the city. Windows were blown out, and balconies and loggias were destroyed.
“Municipal services are already working at the sites of destruction, and specialists from district administrations are inspecting the area to document all the damage,” the head of the Regional Military Administration wrote.

Casualties
In the morning, police reported that two people were known to have been injured near a building that was hit.
However, as of now, the number of injured has risen to three. According to Fedorov, a 75-year-old woman, a 35-year-old woman, and a 46-year-old man sought medical assistance.
Meanwhile, police officers are providing aid and documenting another war crime committed by Russia.
Attacks on Zaporizhzhia
The city of Zaporizhzhia is regularly subjected to attacks. The enemy uses drones as well as aerial bombs, and at times missiles of various types.
In particular, on December 17, Russian forces carried out airstrikes on the city. As a result of the attack, a high-rise residential building and one piece of infrastructure were significantly damaged. It later became known that two residential buildings had been damaged.
By the evening, it was reported that the number of injured had risen to 30, including five children.
