The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has opened a case regarding the wiretapping of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, according to the SSU comment.

An investigation has been opened under Art. 359 Part 2 (illegal acquisition, sale, or use of special technical means for obtaining information) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

According to the Security Service of Ukraine, the equipment was discovered not directly in Zaluzhnyi's office but in one of the premises that could be used by him in the future.

Preliminary information suggests that the discovered device was in a non-operational state.

"No means of accumulating information or remote transmission of audio recordings have been found. The said technical device will be sent for examination," the statement said.

Earlier, a source in military circles informed RBC-Ukraine that a "listening device" was found in the office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valerii Zaluzhnyi.
