Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Paris on Sunday, May 5. This is part of his first European tour since 2019.
During his two-day stay, Xi Jinping will meet with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron to discuss both trade and geopolitical issues.
They are also expected to discuss the war in Ukraine, including finding a solution to the war.
Xi Jinping arrived close to Orly airport, where he was met by Prime Minister Gabriel Attal.
Western media reported that Macron plans to put pressure on Xi Jinping on trade and the war in Ukraine.
In addition, in late April, Bloomberg reported that the French president wants to convince Xi Jinping to influence Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's decision to end the war against Ukraine.
