Xi Jinping arrives at White House for meeting with Trump: First details

Trump personally greeted the Chinese leader at his vehicle and noted that Xi Jinping is the first Chinese president in history to make a second official state visit to the United States.
"From the time of my first election in 2016, President Xi and I have forged a friendship, a truly great friendship, actually, built on mutual respect and the vital interests of our people," Trump said.
He added that this is his first time meeting Xi Jinping at the White House.

"During this visit, we will also discuss pressing issues concerning security, technology, and superintelligence— SI," Trump emphasized.

According to him, the decisions the leaders of the two countries make in these areas today could "promote peace and prosperity for decades and decades to come."
Xi Jinping noted that both China and the United States are great countries, and that the Chinese and American peoples are great peoples.

"I am visiting the United States at President Trump’s invitation to carry on our friendship, expand cooperation, and promote the well-being of both our peoples," Xi said.
Earlier, Reuters reported that the US had planned lavish ceremonies and large-scale events to welcome Xi Jinping. At the same time, it is noted that the talks between the two leaders will not be easy.
