Xi delivers peace-or-war warning next to Putin and Kim Jong Un

Chinese leader Xi Jinping said that the world today must choose between peace and war while speaking at a military parade attended by Russia's Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, CNN reports.
"Humanity again faces a choice between peace and war, dialogue and confrontation, win-win cooperation and zero-sum games," Xi said, without going into details or giving specific examples.
He also praised China's role in World War II: "The Chinese people made a major contribution to the salvation of human civilization and the defense of world peace."
Xi Jinping adds that history reminds us that the fate of humanity is closely linked.
The Chinese leader stressed that only by treating each other as equals, living in harmony and supporting each other can all countries and nations maintain common security, eliminate the root causes of war and prevent the recurrence of historical tragedies.
Parade in China
Today, a large-scale military parade dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Japan's surrender and the end of World War II took place in Beijing, the capital of China. It was the largest parade in Chinese history.
In particular, the Chinese army demonstrated its latest weapons and equipment. The parade featured nuclear missiles, fighter jets, various types of drones, and much more.
Among those present were Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. The three leaders talked and shook hands on the red carpet.
The media noted that their behavior was a sign of defiance against the West, given the trade tariffs and unstable policies of US President Donald Trump, which are straining the country's relations with both allies and rivals.
Meanwhile, Trump accused Russia, China, and North Korea of plotting a conspiracy against the United States.
