WWII-era mine found on kindergarten grounds in Kyiv, Ukraine

A World War II-era mortar mine was discovered by workers on the grounds of a kindergarten in Kyiv's Holosiivskyi district. It was neutralized by sappers, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
"A World War II-era mortar mine was discovered by workers on the grounds of a kindergarten in the Holosiivskyi district of the capital. The dangerous item was removed by sappers from the Mobile Rescue Center of The State Emergency Service of Ukraine, and transported to a training ground for disposal," the statement said.
It is noted that during the operation, staff and children were relocated to another kindergarten.
According to the State Emergency Service, a total of 40 World War II-era munitions have been discovered and removed in Kyiv since the beginning of the year.

Dangerous discoveries
World War II-era munitions were previously found in Ukraine's Odesa region. The explosive devices were destroyed by State Emergency Service sappers.
Additionally, in Kyiv's Holosiivskyi district, a man discovered mortar shells dating back to World War II.
