Work continues, first draft expected soon: Zelenskyy on Ukraine's security guarantees
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that Ukraine is continuously working on ensuring security guarantees for itself and its citizens, according to a press conference of the head of the state.
According to the president, work on security guarantees for Ukraine is ongoing continuously. However, sometimes it happens slowly.
"Soon we will be able to demonstrate to societies (not only Ukrainian) the first such draft. Not all of it because there are closed non-public norms, but we will be able to show general things," Zelenskyy said.
Presumably, the president meant that a draft of the security guarantees project for Ukraine would be presented shortly. He believes that although the work is progressing slowly, the assessment is positive.
Security guarantees for Ukraine
In early July last year, the G7 countries approved a declaration promising to provide security guarantees to Ukraine. Over 30 countries have already joined it.
Yesterday, Volodymyr Zelenskyy identified members of the delegation on security guarantees for Ukraine. The list includes, among others, the Head of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, and the Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, Oleksandr Lytvynenko.
Earlier, Deputy Head of the Office of the President on International Affairs Andriy Sibiga stated that six European Union countries have not yet joined the declaration on security guarantees for Ukraine. Poland is among them.
