A US delegation held a series of meetings in Paris with representatives of the Coalition of the Willing and Ukraine to advance US President Donald Trump’s peace plan, details of the meetings were disclosed by Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff.

According to him, the US delegation included Witkoff himself, Jared Kushner, General Alex Grynkewich, US Ambassador to France Charles Kushner, and White House adviser Josh Gruenbaum.

In Paris, the US representatives held several meetings with European leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron, as well as with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. According to Witkoff, the parties demonstrated a shared approach and readiness for partnership.

"We have made significant progress on several critical workstreams, including our bilateral security guarantee framework and a prosperity plan," the special envoy noted.

He also said that the Coalition of the Willing had released its own statement outlining its vision for security guarantees for Ukraine. The US side supports the position that reliable security guarantees and clear commitments to economic recovery are a necessary condition for achieving lasting peace.

According to Witkoff, consultations with the Ukrainian delegation will continue, including later this evening and throughout the following day.

Zelenskyy also confirmed information about a new round of talks in Paris. According to RBC-Ukraine, members of the Ukrainian delegation who will remain are Budanov, Arakhamia, Umerov, Kyslytsia, Bevz, and Hnatov. European officials will also be present.

Paris summit

On January 6, a meeting of Ukraine’s partners took place in Paris, dedicated to future security guarantees for Kyiv in the event of an end to the war with Russia. Participants discussed forming a joint position among Ukraine, Europe, and the US, as well as the possibility of deploying foreign troops after a ceasefire is established.

French President Emmanuel Macron announced the creation of a coordination group designed to ensure operational interaction between the countries of the Coalition of the Willing, the United States, and Ukraine.

Ahead of the summit, the media published a draft declaration providing for military, intelligence, and logistical support for Ukraine, diplomatic measures, and additional sanctions against Russia. However, the document has not yet been approved by the leaders of the participating countries.
