White House says Trump participates daily in war discussions

US President Donald Trump actively works every day to facilitate a ceasefire agreement between Ukraine and Russia, stated White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt during a briefing.
According to Leavitt, Trump is reportedly frustrated with the leaders of both sides in the war.
"He wants this war to end. There are men dying on both sides, and it's been going on for too long. Our team continues to be engaged with the Russians and with the Ukrainians," she said.
She also mentioned that Trump continues to be "very much engaged on this topic every single day".
Negotiation process on ending the war
On March 11, a meeting was held in Saudi Arabia between US and Ukrainian delegations, including Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, and Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha. The US delegation was led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz.
During the first meeting, the US proposed a complete ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia. Over the past weekend, another round of negotiations took place between Ukraine and the US, and on March 24, American and Russian delegations held a meeting.
As a result of the talks, Ukraine and the US released joint statements on the agreements made in Saudi Arabia, while Russia presented its own conditions for a maritime ceasefire. Later, Moscow accused Ukraine of striking energy facilities in two regions, but the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces denied these claims, calling them baseless and aimed at prolonging the war.
Trump's discontent
Recently, Trump told reporters that he is “angry” and “pissed off” with Russian president Vladimir Putin over statements about Zelenskyy's alleged illegitimacy and the ceasefire in Ukraine.
In addition, Trump does not like the fact that despite his efforts, the war continues. For this reason, he threatened to impose tariffs of 25-50% on Russian oil. According to him, the tariffs would take effect within a month if no ceasefire agreement is reached.
