The White House stated that the United States aims for a swift end to Russia’s war against Ukraine through negotiations.
Regarding the SBU’s special operation targeting Russia’s strategic aviation, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt emphasized that President Donald Trump views the peace talks in Istanbul positively. She noted that Trump is a realist and acknowledges that Ukraine and Russia have been at war for a long time due to the weakness and incompetence of previous US administrations.
Leavitt also stressed that President Trump is not interested in prolonging the conflict. He wants the fighting to stop, lives to be saved, and the issue to be resolved at the negotiating table.
She confirmed that the US President had not been informed in advance about the SBU’s operation on Russian territory.
