Information regarding the cancellation of legal status for Ukrainians
Today, Reuters reported that the administration of US President Donald Trump plans to cancel the temporary legal status for about 240,000 Ukrainians who found refuge in the US to escape the war. This could potentially lead to their deportation.
The agency noted that such a step could be taken by the US as early as April. However, the rollback of protection for Ukrainians began before last week, when US President Donald Trump had a falling out with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to sources, this is part of the Trump administration's efforts to strip legal status from more than 1.8 million migrants who were allowed to enter the US under temporary humanitarian programs initiated during the Biden administration.
