When Ukraine and US may sign rare earth agreement: Media reveals date

The United States and Ukraine may sign a rare earth metals agreement as early as this week. Ukrainian officials plan to travel to Washington on Friday, February 28, according to Barron's and Bloomberg.
According to Barron's, an unnamed Ukrainian official said that government representatives are continuing to work on the details of the rare earth resources agreement.
"As of now, we are considering a visit to Washington for Friday to sign the agreement," he added.
Meanwhile, Bloomberg, citing its own sources, reports that tomorrow, February 26, the Cabinet of Ministers is expected to recommend signing the rare earth resources agreement with the United States.
Agreement has been approved
Earlier, the Financial Times, citing sources, reported that Ukraine and the United States had agreed on the details of the rare earth metals deal.
According to the media outlet, Ukraine is ready to sign an agreement that involves the joint development of its mineral resources with the US, including oil and gas.
As per FT, the final version of the agreement includes the creation of a fund to which Ukraine will allocate 50 percent of revenues from the sale of rare earth resources.
However, the document does not contain any security guarantees.
