Fresh strawberries have already appeared on store shelves. They contain many vitamins, and if eaten every day, they can significantly improve health, according to Ukrainian nutritionist Oksana Shatrova.

What will happen if you eat strawberries every day

According to the expert, if you eat strawberries for 14 consecutive days, here's how your body will change:

  • Menopausal symptoms will decrease.
  • A high content of ellagic acid (a mild natural phytoestrogen) converts into urolithin A (acting as an antioxidant) when the microbiome is healthy.
  • Improved blood circulation and vascular health (if there are cholesterol issues).
  • Reduced negative impact of ultraviolet radiation on the skin.
  • Brain function is supported due to the content of fisetin

When it is not recommended to eat strawberries

A nutritionist explained that strawberries are not good for everyone. They can have a negative impact on health and cause allergic reactions and other symptoms.

Despite all the benefits, some people should not eat strawberries:

  • People with diabetes, intestinal irritation, or colitis. Strawberries can significantly worsen their condition.
  • People with diarrhea or stomach pain - due to the content of organic acids, eating strawberries is not recommended.
  • Patients with kidney stones or kidney failure. Strawberries contain sodium oxalate, which contributes to the formation of kidney stones.
  • Allergy - salicylates present in strawberries can cause hives. In people allergic to strawberries, consumption of the berries can cause itching, rash, swelling, nausea, vomiting, and other symptoms.

How to eat strawberries properly

It is best to consume strawberries fresh to preserve all their beneficial properties. You can eat them as they are, add them to salads, desserts, smoothies, and yogurt.

Dried strawberries are a concentrated source of vitamins and minerals. You can add them to tea, muesli, or granola.

Strawberries can be beneficial to your health. However, it is important to remember about contraindications and consume strawberries with caution.

The brighter the color of the strawberry, the more vitamins it contains. For example, red berries of intense color contain a lot of vitamin C. If the color of the berry is dark, it contains a lot of anthocyanin pigment - it fights aging of the body and has an anti-inflammatory effect.

The aroma of good berries is noticeable from a distance - natural strawberries have a strong and pleasant smell.
