It is important for Ukraine that the United States and leaders of Middle Eastern countries have turned to help with drone interceptors, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with the Jerusalem Post.

Responding to a question about Iran's threats to Ukraine over support for Gulf countries, Zelenskyy stressed that this is not the first statement from Tehran regarding Ukraine.

"Nothing new. I heard during these four years a lot of different messages," the president of Ukraine said, adding that it is important for Ukraine that the United States and leaders of Middle Eastern countries have turned to Kyiv for help with drone interceptors and air defense expertise.

According to the head of state, air defense is not about offensive capabilities. That is why Ukraine is ready to help with this expertise and defensive systems.

"No, we don't (fear - ed.) any kind of such messages. We live with such messages each day... That's why it's not something new for us," Zelenskyy stressed.

What preceded this

The head of the National Security Commission of the Iranian parliament, Ebrahim Azizi, recently stated that Ukraine is allegedly a "legitimate target" for Iran due to assistance to Israel with interceptor drones.

According to him, Ukraine's steps to assist Israel turn its entire territory into a "legitimate and lawful target" for Iran in accordance with the United Nations Charter.

Also, last week, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukrainian experts on Shahed drones will work in the Middle East.

On March 9, the head of the Ukrainian state noted that experts, along with interceptor drones, were sent to protect United States bases in Jordan.
