Russia's attack on Kyiv today was one of the largest involving ballistic missiles, but it was not the most massive, according to Yurii Ihnat, Head of Communications for the Ukrainian Air Force Command.

It is worth noting that throughout the night, Telegram channels and monitoring groups described the latest strike on Kyiv as the largest ballistic missile attack on the capital.

"Yes, this was ONE OF the largest attacks on Kyiv involving missiles following a ballistic trajectory," Ihnat said.

However, he noted that recent statistics show Kyiv has already endured three similarly large-scale attacks over the past 35 days, making today's strike the fourth. Those attacks involved roughly the same number of ballistic missiles, dozens of cruise missiles of various types, and large numbers of drones.

The previous attacks took place on June 15, July 2, and July 6.

Attack on Kyiv on July 19

During the night of July 19, Russia attacked Ukraine with 41 missiles and 125 attack drones. Ukrainian air defenses intercepted most of the incoming targets, including nearly all of the ballistic missiles, although some strikes got through.

Kyiv was the primary target of the attack. Residential buildings were damaged and fires broke out in several districts of the capital.

One person was killed and 15 others were reported injured.
