War in Israel: CIA Chief to facilitate release of hostages in Gaza
CIA Director William Burns will travel to Cairo next week. There, he will discuss the release of hostages in Gaza, according to AXIOS.
Burns will meet with Egyptian officials and discuss the possibility of negotiations for a new agreement to secure the release of the remaining hostages in Gaza.
On Thursday, U.S. President Joe Biden stated in a televised address that he is actively pursuing a deal. The White House acknowledges that an agreement with the hostages is the only way to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza.
It is expected that Burns will travel to Egypt next Tuesday. The CIA has declined to comment on Burns' travel schedule.
