Von der Leyen: The world faces danger but not heading toward World War III

Despite warnings from experts that the world is heading toward a Third World War, this is far from reality. The current period is undoubtedly "very dangerous," said European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in an interview with Le Soir.
She does not believe the world is actually moving toward a Third World War, but she emphasized that "we are living in a very dangerous time."
Von der Leyen said that she would do everything in her power to preserve peace and freedom in Europe and that this was exactly why they were determined to strengthen their defense capabilities.
At the same time, the European Commission President noted that hostility between some states is rising. Against this backdrop, Europe must take measures to "ensure democracy, prosperity, and peace."
Alarmist predictions
In Europe, the threat of a Third World War is most often raised by pro-Russian Prime Ministers Viktor Orbán of Hungary and Robert Fico of Slovakia. US President Donald Trump also once suggested that the war in Ukraine could escalate into a Third World War.
Russian propaganda frequently uses scare tactics about a Third World War, but this is primarily a sign of weakness. Even US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker recently said that the Russian threat to Western countries is a "little overstated," as Moscow has failed to achieve significant success in Ukraine.
