Volunteers from over 50 countries serve in International Legion of Ukrainian Intelligence
The International Legion of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) includes volunteers from over 50 countries, according to DIU.
"Today, March 7, is the anniversary of the establishment of the International Legion of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine! The Legion united volunteers from over 50 countries who, after the full-scale invasion, came to the aid of Ukrainians and fought against the troops of terrorist Russia," the statement says.
The ranks of the DIU unit include experienced fighters, veterans of special operations forces, and other military units from the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Denmark, and other countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America.
"The defense of Kyiv, battles in Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Donetsk regions - the Legion soldiers participated in all hot spots of confrontation with Moscow and continue to fight bravely against the enemy," the DIU states.
DIU operations
Ukrainian intelligence officers are constantly conducting operations, including in Russia. Among the latest, hackers from the DIU launched a large-scale DDoS attack on the servers of the Russian Defense Ministry. They gained access to a lot of data and documents, including classified ones.
In addition, the DIU conducted an operation to eliminate Svitlana Samoilenko, a traitor to Ukraineб, the organizer of dictator Vladimir Putin's so-called elections in the temporarily occupied Berdiansk. From March 4 to 5, 2024, a special unit of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine Group 13 attacked the patrol ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet Sergei Kotov.
