President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has changed the commander of the Medical Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement from the head of state.

"Today there is an important personnel decision. Upon the recommendation of the Minister of Defense, I have replaced the commander of the Medical Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," he said.

According to Zelenskyy, major general of the Medical Service Anatoliy Kazmirchuk has been appointed as the new commander instead of major general of the Medical Service Tetiana Ostashchenko. Currently, Anatoliy Kazmirchuk holds the position of Chief of the National Military Medical Clinical Center Main Military Clinical Hospital in Kyiv.

"The task is clear - and this has been repeatedly discussed in society, including in the community of our combat medics - we need a fundamentally new level of medical support for our soldiers," he said.

Zelenskyy emphasized that, in particular, there is a need for high-quality tourniquets, complete digitization, and transparency in supply, as well as quality training and sincere communication with combat medics in those units where medicine is deployed correctly and effectively.

"The experience of the effectiveness of specific units should be extended to all defense forces," he added.

Decrees on changes in the Medical Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have already appeared on the website of the President's Office.

Statement by Umerov
