Vance praises Trump and states that 'we are on the cusp of peace in Europe'

US Vice President J.D. Vance stated that thanks to the US administration, "we are on the cusp of peace in Europe." However, he provided no evidence to support his claim, The Guardian reports.
According to him, US President Donald Trump was determined to "bring peace to this endless war."
"I think with President Trump, what makes him such an effective negotiator and I have seen this in private, is that he does not take anything off the table… Everything is on the table. And of course that makes the heads explode in America because they say, ‘Why are you talking to Russia?’" he said.
Vance specifically posed a rhetorical question: how are you going to end the war if you’re not talking to Russia?
"You’ve got to talk to everybody involved in the fighting," he added.
At the same time, he noted that Trump "recognizes that a lot of these issues are tough, it is going to take a smart statesman to figure this stuff out."
"I really believe we are on the cusp of peace in Europe for the first time in three years," Vance concluded.
War in Ukraine
Even before his inauguration, US President Donald Trump stood out with his unconventional statements about Ukraine, consistently promoting his main message — the end of Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Before his inauguration, he spoke of resolving the conflict within 24 hours. However, according to The Wall Street Journal at the end of January, Trump tasked US special envoy Keith Kellogg with ending the war in Ukraine within 100 days.
Trump’s recent statements, in which he calls Zelenskyy a “dictator” and claims his approval rating among Ukrainians is allegedly around 4% — despite recent polls showing it at 57% — strongly resemble Russian propaganda.
