Ukrainian heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk is set to step into the ring against Briton Daniel Dubois. The fight promises to be one of the most intense clashes of the year. Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming bout: when it starts, who's on the undercard.

When is the fight? Exact date and start time of Usyk - Dubois 2

The rematch for the WBA, WBO, and IBF championship belts will take place on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the legendary Wembley Stadium in London. The venue is expected to host over 80,000 fans.

Unlike many of Usyk's previous fights, which often started after midnight, this bout will kick off earlier.

According to Wembley's schedule, the main event is set to begin at 11:30 PM Kyiv time on July 19 and should conclude by 1:00 a.m. on July 20.

Thus, the fight officially starts on Saturday night, which is more convenient for Ukrainian fans.

The boxing evening will start with prelims at approximately 7:00 PM Kyiv time, with the main card beginning around 8:30 PM.

In the second most important bout of the evening, former world champion in two weight classes Lawrence Okolie (UK) will face Kevin Lerena (South Africa) for the WBC Silver title in the heavyweight division. Lerena is currently the WBC bridgerweight champion.

Usyk and Dubois' fight purses

The total prize fund for the Usyk-Dubois rematch is reported to exceed 200 million dollars (for example, News Bet365 cites 203.5 million dollars).

The payout will not be evenly split, reflecting Usyk's status as reigning champion and one of the sport's biggest stars. The revenue share is reportedly about 65% to 35%.

According to media reports, the holder of the WBA, WBO, WBC, and IBO championship belts will earn $132.28 million. This will be the highest payday of the Ukrainian's career, surpassing even his earnings from the rematch with Tyson Fury ($114 million).

Meanwhile, the holder of the IBF title will take home $71.22 million — also a record profit for the British boxer. For comparison, his previous highest purse was just $13 million for the fight against Anthony Joshua.

These figures reflect the enormous interest in the bout, which is being billed as a clash for the undisputed heavyweight championship and has generated major media attention, especially after the controversial first fight.

Expert and bookmaker predictions

The Ukrainian is the clear favorite among bookmakers. The odds for his victory range between 1.20 and 1.40 (which corresponds to a 70–83% probability). In contrast, Dubois's chances are rated at odds of 3.70 to 4.50.

However, expert opinions are divided. For example, Joseph Parker leans toward Usyk as the likely winner but warns of Dubois’s potential offensive threats.

Tony Bellew is confident in Usyk's technical superiority and does not rule out a Ukrainian win by knockout.

Carl Froch is more reserved in his forecast, stating there is "a chance for an upset due to Usyk's age."

Meanwhile, Lennox Lewis believes that only Dubois has the power to knock Usyk out and is therefore backing his fellow countryman to win.

Usyk's charity gala dinner

Ahead of the massive rematch, the Ukrainian champ has been actively involved in cultural and charitable initiatives in London, sending a powerful message to the world about Ukrainian resilience and recovery.

On July 14, Usyk unveiled the recreated Boryviter mosaic at Trafalgar Square. It was originally crafted in Mariupol in 1967 by Alla Horska and damaged during the Russian invasion.

On July 18, the Usyk Foundation will host a grand charity Gala Dinner to raise funds for Ukrainian families affected by war and to help restore homes.

The goal of the event is to raise funds for Ukrainian families affected by the war and to help restore their homes. Among the invited stars are UAF president Andriy Shevchenko, Arsenal defender Oleksandr Zinchenko, Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, Usyk’s wife Kateryna, promoter Frank Warren, and actor Liev Schreiber.

Usyk's thoughts about the future

Usyk has already stated that his professional career is nearing its end, and he plans to have only two more fights: one with Dubois and one other, after which he may retire.

That "one other" fight could be a third bout against former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, who recently called Usyk out again. According to the "Gypsy King," the fight should take place on April 18, 2026, at Wembley.

By the way, the legendary London stadium is what Oleksandr himself has called "a special place," where he dreamed of boxing since his youth.

Another possible scenario for ending Usyk’s career is an MMA bout against Jake Paul. The boxer-blogger and his team are ready to organize the fight, and negotiations are already underway.

Usyk - Dubois in Poland: How the debut fight went

The first fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois took place on August 26, 2023, at Tarczynski Arena in Wroclaw.

The fight ended in the 9th round by technical knockout: Dubois went down twice – first after a series of punches in the 8th, and then again in the 9th after a strong jab, prompting the referee to stop the match.

The fifth round sparked controversy: after a low blow, Usyk required a long recovery period, which drew criticism from the British opponent and his team. However, the final result stood unchanged.

This victory allowed Usyk to retain his undisputed championship crown and continue holding the titles, remaining undefeated and unifying the most prestigious belts in the heavyweight division.
