The world boxing rankings have undergone significant changes due to a long break in the career of one of the former leaders, according to The Ring magazine.
Why the Russian boxer was removed
Artur Beterbiev has not entered the ring since February 2025, when he lost in a rematch against Dmitry Bivol. Due to the lack of announcements of new fights and the boxer’s age (41), the editorial team decided to remove him from the elite list. He previously held 6th place.
His removal led to several top fighters improving their positions. In particular, Junto Nakatani, David Benavidez, Devin Haney, and Oscar Collazo each moved up one spot. They are now even closer to the top five, which continues to be led by Oleksandr Usyk.
New entry in the elite
Mexican boxer Emanuel Navarrete also entered the top 10. The three-division world champion, who currently holds the IBF and WBO titles at super featherweight (up to 59 kg), officially closed the list of the world’s ten best boxers.
