Usyk spends time with Ukrainian soldiers in rehab: Moving encounter on video

World boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk visited Ukrainian servicemen undergoing rehabilitation at the National Guard's medical center. The visit was organized at the invitation of former Kyiv Dynamo and Ukraine national team footballer Vladyslav Vashchuk, who now serves in the National Guard, Vashchuk wrote on Facebook.
Support and words of gratitude
"He responded to my invitation to visit the soldiers. To support, inspire, and personally express gratitude to everyone who has defended and continues to defend our country.
The presence of someone who has reached the highest heights in sports but does not stand aside from the war is a powerful message to our troops: their struggle matters, and support is near," Vashchuk wrote.
According to him, Usyk not only spoke with the defenders but also shared his personal rules and life principles that help him succeed.
Heartfelt conversation with servicemen
During the visit, the boxer listened to the stories of fighters recovering from combat. The discussion was full of sincerity and even humor, despite the difficult experiences.
"His humanity and openness moved even the most reserved. Talking to a strong-spirited Ukrainian who knows what struggle and hard work mean is truly inspiring," Vashchuk emphasized.
Symbol of unity
At the end of the visit, Usyk thanked the soldiers for their service and wished them a speedy recovery.
"I am grateful to Oleksandr for sharing his unbreakable winner's spirit. This meeting proves that Ukraine's strength lies in the unity of its people," the former Dynamo defender concluded.
It is worth noting that Vladyslav Vashchuk has been involved in volunteer activities since the start of the full-scale invasion. In May 2023, he joined the National Guard of Ukraine, and a year later was promoted to junior lieutenant.
