Usyk’s last fight: Ukrainian champion’s team names city and venue

Oleksandr Usyk could stage his farewell fight in the US. The Ukrainian champion’s team is considering a specific venue for a bout against former WBC champion Deontay Wilder, according to World Boxing News.

Las Vegas has emerged as the leading contender to host the historic showdown. The iconic T-Mobile Arena is reportedly the most likely venue for the blockbuster boxing event. This was revealed by Ukrainian boxer’s team director Serhii Lapin.
However, Usyk’s team stresses that negotiations with the organizers are still ongoing, so the final details have yet to be agreed upon.
The 39-year-old Usyk is planning to fight 40-year-old former WBC champion Deontay Wilder in March 2027. Although an initial attempt to reach an agreement fell through late last year, the two sides have now resumed active talks.

In May, Usyk successfully tested himself against Dutch kickboxer Rico Verhoeven, defeating his opponent by technical knockout. The victory marked the Ukrainian’s 25th win as a professional (16 by knockout).
Wilder returned to winning ways in April, beating Britain’s Derek Chisora by split decision. The American knockout artist has 45 wins (43 by knockout), four losses and one draw.
