World champion Oleksandr Usyk, who brought Anthony Joshua to Ukraine, organized a vibrant welcome for him in Lviv. They were greeted by performers from Ukraine’s Eurovision national selection and colorful folk music, according to the USYK MEDIA Instagram page.
How Usyk showed Joshua Lviv
Instead of a typical formal program, Usyk chose to show his guest the real atmosphere of Ukraine.
In Lviv, the boxers were treated to an improvised show featuring Ukrainian folk elements, with Ukrainian songs and energetic dancing.

A special atmosphere was created by participants of the Eurovision national selection — the band YAGODY, who performed ethnic compositions.
The live sound, traditional motifs, and the energy of the performance impressed Joshua. He clapped along to the rhythm and filmed everything on his phone.
Usyk himself couldn’t hide his emotions — cheering, whistling, and smiling throughout the performance.
It is known that this is Anthony Joshua’s first visit to Ukraine since the start of the full-scale war. Both boxers are expected to be honorary guests at the “Rising Stars” boxing event, where Olympic champion Oleksandr Khyzhniak will make his professional debut.
It should be recalled that Usyk and Joshua have already faced each other twice in the ring, in 2021 and 2022. Both bouts ended in victories for the Ukrainian, and their relationship has since shifted into a friendly one.
