Using Oreshnik, Putin wants to disrupt Trump's efforts to end the war - Zelenskyy
Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to disrupt the efforts of newly elected US President Donald Trump to establish peace. To do this, he used the Oreshnik missile, states President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his evening address.
Zelenskyy noted that during his visit to Kazakhstan, Putin once again promoted his missiles and his willingness to kill and destroy. According to the Ukrainian president, Putin does not want the war to end. Moreover, Putin wants to prevent others from ending this war as well.
"Right now, he can only brandish his Oreshnik to disrupt President Trump's efforts, which will definitely take place after the inauguration. Putin wants to escalate the situation now so that President Trump fails and so that he cannot end the war. Putin is the sole culprit of this war and the only one who believes in it," Zelenskyy said.
Trump's peace plan
Earlier, Donald Trump claimed that he could end the war between Russia and Ukraine in one day. According to media reports, one of the points of Trump's peace plan could have been the transfer of part of Ukraine's territories.
Later, British media reported that there was allegedly a new version of Trump's plan, which includes the creation of a buffer zone between the countries, to be guarded by European troops.
However, one of Trump's advisors stated that the return of Crimea to Ukraine is now "unrealistic." This information was later denied by the office of the elected president.
