The United States of America announced today, July 17, that it will provide over $500 million in humanitarian aid to Ukraine, according to a statement from USAID (United States Agency for International Development) Administrator Samantha Power.

"The United States is providing over $500 million in additional humanitarian aid to Ukraine," the statement reads.

Samantha Power announced the allocation of additional humanitarian aid to meet the urgent needs of Ukrainians who have suffered from Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The United States Agency for International Development Administrator, Samantha Power, arrived in Kyiv for a visit. This is her second visit to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

US assistance to Ukraine

The United States has been actively assisting Ukraine since the full-scale war. Washington has provided the most significant military, humanitarian, and energy aid. The US also continuously offers financial support to Ukraine.

US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen recently stated that doubling support to war-affected Ukraine is the best stimulus for the global economy.

US President Joe Biden and NATO leaders unanimously approved a "significant" new aid package for Ukraine.

Ukrainian diplomats are actively working to ensure that the US Congress extends the lend-lease law for another year.
