US warns of potential Iranian attack on Israel with drones and missiles
In the US, it is believed that Iran could attack Israel by the end of the day on April 12. Washington warns that Tehran could deploy over 100 drones and dozens of missiles, according to CBS News.
Two American officials informed CBS News that a significant Iranian attack on Israel could occur on Friday, April 12. According to the sources of the publication, Iran may use over 100 drones and dozens of missiles targeting military objectives within Israel.
US officials believe that repelling a large-scale attack on Israel could be challenging. They speculate that Iran might opt for a less extensive scenario but doubt that a sharp escalation can be avoided.
There are concerns in the US that Iran's attack could escalate into a protracted war in the Middle East.
Additionally, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Twitter (X) urged French citizens to refrain from visiting Israel, Iran, Lebanon, and Palestinian territories.
"In view of the risks of a military escalation in the Middle East, the Minister advised the French people to refrain absolutely from travelling to Iran, Lebanon, Israel, or the Palestinian Territories in the coming days," the message said.
Background
On April 1, as a result of a missile strike on the Syrian capital, Damascus, the building of the Iranian consulate was destroyed. At least seven Iranians were killed, including two generals.
Iran accused Israel of the attack and promised a "harsh" response. In turn, Israel warned Iran that if attacked from its territory, the country would retaliate. Tel Aviv noted that the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) is on heightened alert.
The Wall Street Journal, citing its own sources, reported that Iran could attack Israel within the next 24-48 hours, but the attack plan is not yet ready.
